Encountering Adam is a group project developed during the Masters program New Media and Digital Cultures at the University of Amsterdam.

The aim of this project is to trigger the feeling of “getting lost“ in a city, in which most of us naturally just use the GPS provided by smartphones, to take the fastest route from A to B. Although these devices are useful to situate yourself within the city, they have the tendency to distract you from the surroundings, making you perceive the city differently. Mobile devices have become such an integral part of our lives, that mostly we can no longer do without them. In this project we offer a more fruitful way to engage with them.
